Your Questions, Answered

1:1 Reading Questions

  • If you’re looking for someone to tell you when you’ll meet the love of your life, how to win the lottery, or provide a neat schedule of upcoming events, you may be in the wrong place. Sitting for a reading with Morrisa is like talking to an old friend who just so happens to have some ins with Spirit. Grounded in present situations and emotions, your reading will help you zoom out and gain a new perspective on how whatever you are facing in the moment connects to your past, your future, and maybe even lessons you’ve carried over from past lives or taken on through generational trauma. As an empath and also a recovering millennial boss-babe herself, Morrisa has garnered the ability to identify even the most confusing of emotions and help you trace them back to their roots and ultimately connect you with the tools and practices to take your growth into your own hands. The future is addressed not as a finite destination with specific events occurring along the way. Because she reads through an Akashic lens, the future is discussed in terms of possibilities and options. You’ll leave your reading feeling seen and empowered to create your own future.

  • Morrisa’s readings draw insight from a custom combination of tarot cards and psychic/empathic abilities. Before each reading, she will connect with your energy and the energy of your spirit guides (everyone has them!). Readings may include insight on pertinent day-to -day experiences, help you connect the dots of nagging, repetitive feelings and thought patterns, or venture as far out of the realm of the every-day and into your past lives. Often you will get a feel for your Akashic field (each person’s psychic space is unique to them). Sometimes we meet your guides to help you connect with them more personally and on occasion we may even stumble upon one of your passed loved ones on the other side. By connecting with your spirit guides, Morrisa is able to channel whatever information is in your highest and best interest with each reading, while delivering messages that reach you in the way they are meant to. Though Morrisa is not a professional astrologer, if you would like for her to take a quick look at your chart to see if the current planetary transits are affecting you, please provide your birth date, time, and place at checkout.

  • This depends on what you are looking for. The longer the reading, the deeper it will go. If you are experiencing heightened emotions and challenging life events, an hour reading is recommended. If it is your first time or you’re looking for more of a temp check, thirty minutes is plenty. If you’ve had a reading before and need additional insight or have a straight-forward question, the fifteen-minute pre-recorded option is recommended.

  • This truly depends on you. Morrisa’s philosophy is more in the “teach a man to fish…” vain as she does not want to create a toxic reader-client relationship that makes you feel dependent on her advice. If your goal is to have consistent insight into how the events in the mundane world connect to your overall journey in life, quarterly readings are the way to go, as our lives and experiences tend to shift along with the seasons. If you are going through a particularly challenging phase of your life, monthly or bi-monthly readings will be helpful. More often, however, is not recommended as you will leave each reading with information that needs to be processed independently, though Morrisa is always happy to answer brief follow up questions in between.

  • No! In fact, it is usually recommended to come into your reading with an open mind and open heart. Because Morrisa connects with your spirit guides, you will receive guidance on whatever is in your best and highest interest at the time. That may mean that whatever is top of mind is what will be discussed or that the reading may dive much deeper into broader topics that connect many more of your experiences together to help you see and work through any patterns that no longer serve you. Of course, if you have a specific question you’d like to address, you are always welcome to bring them with you into your reading!

  • Absolutely not! Morrisa’s readings are not like those you’ve seen in scary movies and on scary TV shows. There’s no doom and gloom here. Those who find discussing their emotions, relationship dynamics, and trauma “scary” may experience mild discomfort initially, but that is where growth happens. Many people are not accustomed to being so fully seen and heard without judgement, so it may feel strange at first, but certainly not in a “you’re going to die next week” sort of way. Morrisa’s style is highly empathetic and supportive. She’ll be there to guide you through your reading and gently deliver even the most challenging information. And, in true Gemini fashion, a few laughs here and there are almost always a guarantee.

  • All you need to do is show up with an open mind and open heart. It is recommended to find a comfortable, quiet space where you will not be interrupted. Though Morrisa prefers to go into an initial reading knowing as little as possible about you, feel free to share any relevant details either at check out, via email, or at the beginning of your session. Feel free to take notes or request a recording of your reading to revisit later. Often some portions may not click until after the reading, so it is highly recommended to have something to refer back to later.

Private Events

  • Almost any occasion is an appropriate one for readings! Morrisa has experience reading at a wide range of private events, including wedding receptions, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, family reunions, graduations, salon and spa open houses, get-togethers with friends, social meet-ups, book club meetings, and even prom. Psychic readings will give your guests even more to talk about and bring your group even closer together. Whether you are gathering with friends, family, co-workers, or community members, sharing your experience with the group nearly always guarantees greater bonding.

  • Morrisa has experience reading for both small and large groups alike. Only have half a dozen people in your group? No problem! This allows for each to receive longer readings and dive a bit more deeply. Hosting a large event like a wedding reception? Great! Readings can be as short as ten minutes, allowing as many people to receive readings as possible in the allotted time.

  • Morrisa is based in the Portland, Maine metro area and also has a second home-base just north of Boston, Massachusetts and will happily travel up to one hour from either location with no additional fee. If you are located farther than that, a travel fee can be discussed. Virtual parties are an option as well.

  • Two-hour minimum commitment for local events. For events more than a one-hour drive from either of the above mentioned locations will be a minimum of three hours. Events are priced starting at $150 per hour. For events longer than four hours, ask about discounts and special offers.

  • Yes! Morrisa will not only teach you the meaning of each card, but also help you tap into foundational intuitive skills. With over a decade of teaching ESL, Morrisa incorporates a communicative, discussion-based style through which you will not just learn definitions and catch-phrases, but discover how to personalize each card to yourself or whomever you are reading for. Morrisa believes whole-heartedly that every human has innate intuitive abilities and that learning the art of Tarot can help you unlock them.

  • To learn all 78 cards, their accompanying archetypes and symbols, and the basics of readership, a commitment of six to seven 90-minute sessions is required. For more detail on the general breakdown or “syllabus”, write to Morrisa. She is always happy to schedule a discovery call to discuss pacing, structure, payment, etc. One-on-one tutoring is highly customizable.

  • Yes! Morrisa is extremely comfortable in a classroom setting, so the more, the merrier. Learning with a group helps to provide multiple perspectives and is a fun way to learn. Not only that, but group rates are offered. Group classes will be capped at ten people.

  • Morrisa recommends learning with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck as it is the most commonly used. If you have a different deck, however, she is happy to work with you. In fact, learning with the RWS deck alongside another deck can help foster a richer understanding of the shared symbols and archetypes found in tarot.
